1. Delivery and collection options
Available options are shown at checkout or confirmed in your quote. These may include courier delivery to an eligible South African address or collection arranged directly with Smart Gadget.
Courier availability depends on the destination, parcel size, service coverage and the live services returned by the courier provider.
2. Courier rates and payment
When live rates are available, the checkout displays the courier service and charge before payment. The customer pays the delivery charge shown and accepted with the order unless a written quote states otherwise.
Remote areas, oversized parcels, failed delivery attempts or address corrections may carry additional charges. We will disclose a material extra charge before arranging it where reasonably possible.
3. Your delivery address
Provide a complete, accurate street address, suburb, city, province, postal code, contact name and working mobile number. Someone authorised must be available to receive the parcel.
Contact us immediately if an address is wrong. Once a parcel is collected, an address change may be delayed, refused or charged by the courier.
4. Processing and delivery estimates
Any dispatch or delivery date is an estimate, not a guarantee, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Timing may be affected by payment confirmation, stock, repair completion, security checks, courier capacity, weather, public holidays, remote-area schedules or events outside reasonable control.
We will provide tracking information when the courier makes it available. Tracking updates can take time to appear after collection.
5. Packaging phones and repair devices
Devices sent to Smart Gadget must be switched off, protected with cushioning and packed in a rigid, securely sealed box. Do not include unrelated accessories, SIM cards, memory cards or valuables unless requested and listed.
Back up data, sign out of accounts where appropriate and remove activation or screen locks needed for authorised testing. Photograph the device and sealed parcel before handover and keep the collection receipt.
6. Delivery, risk and failed attempts
Subject to applicable law, Smart Gadget remains responsible for the goods until delivery to the customer or a person nominated to receive them. After confirmed delivery to that person, the customer is responsible for safe custody.
If no authorised person is available, the courier may make another attempt, hold the parcel or return it. Additional attempt or return charges caused by an unavailable recipient or incorrect address may be payable by the customer where lawful.
7. Loss or damage in transit
Inspect the outer parcel before accepting it where possible. If it appears damaged or tampered with, note this with the courier, take photographs and contact Smart Gadget promptly. For concealed damage or missing contents, keep all packaging and report the issue as soon as it is discovered.
We may need photos, tracking details and packaging for a courier investigation. We will work with you on the remedy required by applicable law and the circumstances.
8. Restrictions, returns and help
Couriers may restrict hazardous, prohibited, high-value or improperly packaged items, including certain loose lithium batteries. Do not send a restricted item until Smart Gadget confirms the correct method.
For a product return, first follow our Returns & Refunds Policy. For delivery help, contact info@smartgadget.co.za or 063 900 7619.
